Library membership

Much of our collection can be freely accessed through our online catalogue, but the resource centre also offers some services that are available to members only.

Member services

DrugInfo resource centre members can:

  • get a fortnightly email bulletin on new alcohol and other drug (AOD) literature.
  • borrow books and audiovisual material (DVDs and videos).
    • up to 5 books and up to 3 audiovisual items
    • 3 week loan with free postage of loans up to 1kg.
  • access print and online journals.
  • get expert assistance in finding information or research.
  • request articles from our collection ($5 per article) or from other collections ($10 per article).
  • request literature searches on specific topics (2 week turnaround unless otherwise negotiated).

Membership eligibility  

Free membership is available to Victorian professionals who work or study in the AOD field, for example:

  • AOD workers
  • youth counsellors
  • health or welfare professionals regularly working with AOD clients
  • justice and law enforcement workers
  • policy workers
  • researchers
  • Certificate IV students in AOD
  • postgraduate or undergraduate students studying specific courses relevant to the AOD field.
 

Those not eligible for membership are welcome to access our collection, which is available through our catalogue.
