The use of amphetamine in Australia is of increasing concern to the community. In 2007, 6.3 per cent of Australians aged 14 years and older had tried amphetamine at least once. For the 20–29 year age group the figure was 16 per cent (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2008). The harms and risks associated with amphetamine use are extensive and include both chronic and acute problems. This suite of DrugInfo Clearinghouse resources on amphetamine looks at local and national programs, research into primary, secondary and tertiary interventions, and provides a range of fact sheets that are aimed at young people, families, employers and workers.

New sexual health website for young people

Safer Sex (www.safersex.com.au) is a collaboration between the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) and the Youth Substance Abuse Service (YSAS). Through the website and using Short Messaging Services (SMS) or text messaging, Safer Sex aims to empower young people to attain and maintain the highest possible standard of sexual health.

Many of these queries include requests for information about developing an alcohol and other drug policy for the workplace and how workplaces can support their employees.
