Alcohol and other drug-related services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Number 8.16 June 2010
for a general audience

Introduction

Victoria has one of the most culturally diverse communities in the world. In fact, 44 per cent of Victorians were either born overseas, or have a parent who was born overseas, and around 13 per cent do not speak English.

Government, health, community, and drug and alcohol agencies are working to meet the particular needs of people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) backgrounds, and to ensure that services are inclusive of these communities.

This fact sheet lists some of the Victorian services available to help people from CLD communities with issues relating to alcohol and other drugs.
